Krista Mathis Samuels asked that members get involved
and participate, that every member’s involvement
is crucial to the success and on-going betterment
of our urban neighborhood. Mr. Samuels asked members
for feedback regarding their priorities for board
initiatives. Members suggestions included:
- Now that lighting is on the way, can we improve/maintain
sidewalks to make this truly a pedestrian-friendly
neighborhood
- All members should take on the initiative
to participate in litter pick-up, etc.
- Once the gas line project is concluded, can
we expect that the streets will be resurfaced
- Trees need to be limbed up to take advantage
of existing light and to make signage visible
- Establish a program to encourage residents
to keep sidewalks clean and a PR effort to ask
neighborhood visitors to support our efforts
- Place additional street trash receptacles
- Promote a tree well program; some are too
hard to dig, some are filled with stumps, etc.
- Partner with developers and development to
attract more ownership
- Establish a block captain program
