The 47^th Annual Fan Holiday House Tour

The Fan District Association is proud to announce “Holiday Splendor on the Avenue”, the 47^th Annual Fan Holiday House Tour. 

The tour will take place Saturday, December 12^th and Sunday, December, 13^th between the hours of 1:00pm-5:00pm each day. 

While every holiday house tour is special, the 2009 tour will be truly unique because all the homes on tour will be on historic Monument Avenue.  

The source of pride for many Richmond residents, Monument Avenue has been named by the American Planning Association as one of the 10 Great Streets in the United States.  The Avenue is also on the National Register of Historic Places.  A record turnout is expected to take advantage of this rare opportunity.  Come experience firsthand the beauty and grandeur of the homes on Monument Avenue!

The annual tour is organized by the Fan District Association and is attended by approximately 2,000 people each year.  The FDA is one of the largest and most active volunteer organizations in the City of Richmond and the tour is the FDA’s only fund-raising event of the year.   Tour proceeds are used for neighborhood enhancements that include funding school projects, tree planting, park and alley refurbishment, concert series and collaboration with the City of Richmond Police and VCU in a party patrol program.  The tour also provides financial support for the FDA's community newsletter, Fan Fare, as well as the community website.
