Back by popular demand, local favorite Susan Greenbaum serenades Library Park.  Join the Friends of the Richmond Public Library for this free outdoor concert in Library Park at the corner of Second and Main Streets, Tuesday July 15 at 12 noon.    Pack your picnic lunch and bring a friend.

Ordinance to Change Fan Residential Restricted Parking District

The Zoned Parking Ordinance passed City Council on May 12, 2008 by a vote of 9-0.
Check back to this site for the Implementation Plan and important dates.

2007 Fan decals will be good through July 31, 2008 to allow for the Implementation of the NEW Zoned Parking.

New Decals to be used for zones 1 and 2

Annual Visitor Pass will look the same however this year it will be laminated to reduce fading. Zone 1 will use a Turquoise colored pass. Annual Visitor Pass will look the same however this year it will be laminated to reduce fading. Zone 1 will use a Yellow colored pass.

Parking Update (5/22/2009) 2007 Parking decals will be extended through July 31, 2008. This will allow for the printing and sale of decals that will correspond with the creation of 2 Zones within the existing Parking District.

Decals go on sale June 18th at City Hall, Room 102, applications will be available on the City's web site at Parking Page - Fan ,
please make sure you use the 2008-2009 application for the proper zone.
Decals will be on-sale at the Stonewall Jackson School, corner of Lombardy and West Main Street,
in the lobby, July 9, 2008 from 5-7 PM.

Applications are also available on the FDA's Parking Page

Only the current year (2009) permit should be displayed on the vehicle. All prior permits shall be removed, failure to remove the old decals will result in warning and then a citation.

The Fan District Party Patrol is Back

The Fan District Party Patrol returns, effective immediately.
The patrol is a joint sponsorship by the FDA, City of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University.
The patrol's goals are to help reduce both underage drinking and binge drinking.
One of the by products of the patrol is to increase the probability for a good night's sleep for both home owners and renters
in the Fan District.
The patrol will be running Friday and Saturday nights and other nights during the week.

FDA Community Grants Program & Process

The Fan District Association expects to have a limited amount of funds available each year to support civic associations, schools, garden clubs, and non profit foundations whose activities benefit the residents and neighborhoods encompassed by the FDA. In recent years we have provided grants for tree planting, to purchase permanent refuse containers, for street signage, to renovate the fountain in Monroe Park, and to enhance public school programs.

Applications can be submitted at any time during the year using this form. Questions prior to submission of an application should be directed to , of the FDA Grants Committee Chairman.
