Q: I just got married and my husband/wife is not on my deed. May I still get a parking permit for his/her vehicle?
A: Yes, the current ordinance applies to all members of the owner's immediate family (Richmond City Code Section 264(f) as amended 1993). However, the vehicle must be registered in compliance with DMV rules, all taxes must be paid in full and the husband/wife must have a valid drivers license showing the correct address.
Q: If I have valid Fan Decal and get a parking ticket for parking in excess of the 1-hour limit, what should I do?
A: Contact Standard Parking at 804-649-3025
Q: Am I required to remove old fan parking decals from my vehicles?
A: Yes – Under the current Traffic Engineering Order all expired decals shall be removed. This requirement facilitates efficient patrolling.
Q: I just got vanity license plates or my plate number has changed. Do I need a new Fan Decal?
A: Yes. Take your old registration and your new registration to City Hall, Room 102 and go to the back desk to get a new decal with your new plate number. The charge for this is $1.
Q: How do I replace my parking decal?
A: A decal purchased for a vehicle that was sold or otherwise disposed of by the owner may be purchased for $1, with verification of the original decal purchase and vehicle information from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Decals that are lost or stolen may also be replaced for $1. In these instances, the owner of the vehicle must provide the Department of Public Works, either a signed affidavit that the decal was lost or a copy of a police report indicating the decal was stolen. Fan parking decals can be obtained at the following city facility, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m:
